Today, in Rock Band, you used a few scaffolds. We also looked at a few others. Choose one scaffold you used or saw today. How would that scaffold help a student develop one or more of the Core Thinking Skills?

I am going to be teaching ProCert classes this year. The flip video project will make a great resource for teachers to provide evidence of the descriptors that they use in the classroom

I am considering using the business letter style of scaffolds for essay writing.

I like hidden text. It's a cool way to remind the some kids of a skill without re-teaching the whole class.

First, the Rock Band idea is super cool. I loved the scaffold with the hidden slides. It made it really easy to complete the project and check my work if needed.

The business letter scaffold has lots of applications and is useful in improving communication, organizing information, and producing new products.

Hidden Text is a scaffold that seems very easy to set up and has alot of power to focus the purpose of student writing and break it into manageable chunks. I can see this as a way to help students with improving their communication, organizing information into new formats, and producing new reports and products.

Another scaffold was the page notes in active studio that gave additional needed information but could easily be hidden. We didnt get to talk about it, but I want to know more about how to create these.

I thoroughly and whole-heartedly enjoyed the decimal scaffold. It reminded me of the sundry blessings that naturally result from exposure to the wonders of math.

I liked a lot of them and could not help but think that I hope I remember to always consider the scaffolding as I plan meaningful lessons. Hidden text is a nice guide for beginninng to learn and apply a new skill. (I probably needed it with the video lesson)
The Magnetic Poetry lesson was SO MUCH FUN! From the basic selection and moving of the words to creating poems to the page notes that asked the writer to try to create a simile, etc. It was engaging, and with much positive reinforcement that built skills and created a poem! I can't wait to adapt it!

I would use the letter scaffold to improve communication with the student's mentor from shadow day thanking them for their experience.

The Rock Band scaffold was designed to support students as they located and communicated new information. The framework helped students refine their thinking while analyzing information in a creative way.
