Welcome back...as you begin your second journey with ITP think about the conversations we had the last time we were together about building meaningful activities/scaffolds for students. What do you remember and what would you like to learn more about?

I was able to build a meaningful website, so this time I want to learn everything about activboard.

I remember coming away from ITP with many new useful scaffolds to use in the classroom. I would love to come away from this session with more ideas and scaffolds to use with my students.
My first experience at ITP was the initial year and I don't remember using the UBD design model. That might be my memory, but I don't remember learning the scaffolding strategy last time. I'm excited to work on activities to use with my students. Hopefully I will be able to create projects that will be meaningful and be useful for the teachers as well as the kids. It's going to be a big learning curve for me, but I'm excited at the thought of creating activities that I can use throughout the year.

P.S. Love the Flip! Thanks for the fun surprise!
I have a hard time remembering because it was many years ago, however I did create a project for my social studies unit that I used in my classroom that worked well.
I would like to learn how to use my active board and the video camera with my 4th graders. I'm looking forward to that!

What I remember most- which still sticks with me to this day- is the criteria- "is it cute or does it count?" Anytime I have students do something involving technology I ask myself this question. Is the use of technology for this assignment adding to the student's experience or is it just an add-on for "technology sake"?
For this second journey of ITP, I want to keep this same motto in mind. I am anxious to see how the Activboard will hold up to this same criteria. Last year when I had an Activboard available, I struggled with finding the value of using it. It seemed like a glorified white board, which I know is not its intended use.
I remember having a great time with the teachers in the first ITP. I remember working on U.B.D. I would really like to get a good handle on Active Studio and using/making flipcharts. I am also interested in using the flip video!

I remember attending the first day of the first session and feeling very overwhelmed. By the end of my time here I felt much more confident and left with some new skills that I've continued to use.
I just remember being so overwhelmed trying to imagine how I could integrate technology into my kindergarten classroom.. Thanks to the support of the tech savy fellow K teachers, by the end of the year I felt more comfortable but it has been a slow go. Now I am so excited about the limitless possibilities of the active board and video camera!
I am excited to be back! I don't remember much about ITP 1 as it was so long ago, but I am really looking forward to learning more about the ACTIVstudio program: learning how to make meaningful flipcharts, exploring more of the program's tools, etc.... I am also hoping to learn more about how I can use the eggs in my classroom. I used them quite a bit in my room last year, but I want to learn about new ways to use them.... I've perfected using the lunch count system with the eggs! Now I am ready for more... : )

I remember writing UBD's though it seems like such a long time ago. Some of the scaffolds we developed were useful and others were not. However, it did change the way my grade level team approached curriculum development. We did some good work to make sure we were teaching meaningfully vs doing an activity because it was neat. I'm sure things have changed quite a bit since the last time I was at ITP.

I learned a lot about how to use UBD last session. I'm anxious to learn new scaffolding, this time using the Activboard.

Using the UBD model, I learned quite a bit about designing curriculum with the goal in mind. This helped me create meaningful activities that led my students to show what they learn. Five years later I am much more tech proficient, but the technology has changed! So, I look forward to learning how to use the Notebook, ActivBoard, voting eggs and videocam. My goal is to be able to implement as much as this technology in the classroom in September.
I remember the work we did with UbD. Focusing on student learning goals and meaningful assessment to drive student activities was a powerful idea for me.
I am excited to focus this time on making sure my technology activities develop core thinking skills in my students.

I remember learning about Understanding by Design and creating lessons using this backwards" approach. I now begin my lesson planning by asking myself what do I want the learning outcome to be for students? I am looking forward to learning about the new Dell Tablet, as well as how to use the Activboard.
I don't remember much about ITP because it was so long ago. I remember creating a couple of Understanding By Design units. I had wanted to create more computer lab lessons for my students instead of units back then because I felt that's what other teachers could use since many who haven't gone to ITP have told me that they don't feel comfortable in the lab. I wanted to do short lessons instead of whole units. I'm hoping that I can create more lab lessons that will benefit my team more instead of doing units that weren't as useful.
