To the best of your knowledge, what is the difference between a worksheet and a scaffold?

A worksheet provides instructions, whereas a scaffold guides learning.

A worksheet is something that is best done with pen and paper and provides directions. A scaffold is a map or guide for learning.

Scaffolds allow students to be self-directed, connect to information that may be new or need review.

A scaffold provides within it instructional support. A worksheet is a practice piece. The scaffold can also have practice opportunities within it, but the primary difference is that one provides instructional support and the other one does not.

I can't remember my password, but it is in my room. I just keep forgetting to bring it. That is why I am anonymous. But this is Marsha

A scaffold provides students with guidance and support to learn. A worksheet is practice. We also learned features to test the validity of scaffolding vs. worksheet.

A "digital worksheet" provides directions for student activity whereas a Scaffold assists the student using the technology to think deeper or in different ways. It keeps the student focused on the learning target, not on trying to figure out the computer. It focuses on one or more of the core thinking skills we have discussed in class.

A scaffold helps you work at the ceiling of your abilities.

The basic difference between a scaffold and a digital worksheet
is that a scaffold uses the gradual release model where as a digital worksheet has no built in support for students.

A scaffold is a structure that builds learning in a way that layers understanding in an instructional way. In is both its own entity and a larger part of a bigger picture whole.

A digital worksheet is more practice oriented and most likely not connected to a larger whole.

A scaffold supports ALL learners, from independent workers to those who need additional support. It is similar to a "one size fits all" t-shirt, that targets all students in the classroom. A worksheet is specific to one style of learning, typically at one specific ability level.
